5 secret beaches and bays in Sydney

Sydney’s coastal beaches get a lot of the love, but these harbour beaches and hidden bays let you see a different side of Sydney.

1. Clifton Gardens, Mosman

Balmoral is the more famous spot in Mosman, but this secluded beach and leafy reserve is just as beautiful. Perfect for picnics.

2. Gordons Bay, Coogee

Situated along the Bondi to Coogee Walk, this bay is a popular place for Sydneysiders to relax on the rocks and swim in the calm water.

3. Collins Flat Beach, Manly

Just a 20-minute walk from Manly Wharf via Skinner’s Reserve, this local favourite has crystal-clear water, golden sand and even a waterfall.

4. Redleaf Beach, Double Bay

A lovely, quiet beach with gentle lapping waves. Swim in the enclosed Murray Rose Pool for a dip in the harbour, and grab a coffee at Redleaf Cafe.

5. Parsley Bay, Vaucluse

A secluded, family-friendly bay and beach just 15 minutes from Watsons Bay ferry terminal with a century-old cable suspension bridge looming above.
